I am thankful to God for Pastor John Piper. I believe by sharing his teenage struggle between glorifying God and his own happiness is a common tension in the heart of most born again, Christ longing christians. Myself included. The sharing of that struggle through his ministries had helped me filtered out unbiblical thoughts on joy in relation to my daily life.
